A Little Birdy

I can never write a poem
Psychotic or insane enough
To fully release the madness
And be free finally,
So I keep it locked deep inside:
A deranged monster
Held behind the bars of a bird cage
And disguised as a sweet robin.
Red-breasted;
Blood spilling down my chest
And painting the floor
With the artwork of a creature
That grows weary of being caged.
