The hands that have done great with
keeping time with the beat
Through pain and joy
Through smiles and tears
The beat gets stronger and crescendos
As the story goes on with
the thump of the base and
the chirp of the chimes
That intertwine to make something
Strong and groovy with
The shuck of the snare and
The crash of a cymbal
Create a steady beat that comes to life
Like a roaring engine
And if that is put all together it creates something
great like my grandpa.
