I looked for reasons
why
your smile disappeared--
your arms didn't reach for me
any longer
and I wonder if I'm being selfish loving you so much
that when a day goes by and
I look in the mirror
and don't see you sparkling in my eyes
that the world may have played
some cruel joke
putting you here with me.
