Am I ready?
I start to trot onto the barren stage.
Darkness and faint smudges lie on the floor.
I compose myself into my first pose.
Am I ready?
I hear Ms. Marja announce “Saige Steiner.”
The audience applauds as my heart beats faster.
The curtain starts to slowly open to the faces of many.
