Dirty Feet
When I was younger I wanted to have dirty feet.
Wanted to climb the highest trees,
Limbs touching cotton candy clouds.
My dreams were more simple than they are now.
I fear the dangers of walking home at night
I never want to make the decision of fight or flight.
My best friend is growing older in private ways while her body is still 16 in age.
I cannot see myself with another boy
Maybe because to them I am only a toy
You made me feel like golden honey
Like a galaxy of Milky Way candy bars.
Sometimes I wish I could go back to, wanting dirty feet as my highest dreams.
