Day 39
So astray and confused
Exhausted and so weary
Wandering aimlessly through this forest of despair
Losing all hope of any possible escape
And then the snow fell gently
Covering the ground in a blanket of white
The animals all scurried in a wintery delight
They're so swift in their quest to find food
But for me I haven't eaten in days
Each moment has become such a haze
This forest
Oh god this forest is an elaborate maze
A weekend of hunting
Became weeks of icy hell
The birds the fox and squirrel
All living so well
I envied that moose
Not lost at all
Warm with his furry coat
Alive and not dead
But i've lost all hope
This cold has gone to my head
I lay in the snow
So tired and feeble
I shiver as the frost crept over me
Closing my eyes
Visions of home danced in my mind
I've grown so jaded
I doubt i'll ever make it home
Forever lost in this forest
Cold, hungry and alone
