Because middle school
Wasn't the greatest for both of us
Founding out you had really bad depression
Up to the worst headache you've ever gotten
Thinking 8th grade would of been the last year
I would of seen you

Because of the stupid mistake i've made,
Along the way.
To you sneaking and lying to us
Saying you had some shopping to do
All because you were scared we would of acted differently

Because that night him yelling at you, saying the truth
Why you were gone so much,
Clicked in my head.
Tears rolling down my face
Thinking when this nightmare was going to end.

Because of that night you called to take him away
You were scared he was going to hurt us
You thought wrong
Us not seeing him for weeks
Was the worst
Because you thought it would make us happier
But it just made it worse on me
Acting like I was happy to make you happy
Packing up thinking that was the end
Of that “happy family”

Because knowing you have two other
Children to care for
You try your hardest to keep
Each of us the happiest we can be

Because everyday you help each of us
Grow stronger by
Having the little inside jokes
To random drives around the city

Because you are and will be
My best friend
after all the fights we get into
