with the windows open
And this time I danced with the windows open,
As the dark oak floor bounced beneath my toes.
Not a blink of hesitation elapsed my pupils,
My heart was protected like a thorned rose.
My umber-toned locks grew more tangled with every dance,
But I didn't seem to shred a single concern.
My body contorted to the musical vibrations,
Happiness is what I yearned.
Hours soon seemed to pass like seconds,
Like I was hypnotized in a time potion.
Joy seemed to know no bounds,
And this time I danced with the windows open.

My poetry is usually depressing, and sort of melodramatic. So I decided to capture a moment in time. Me dancing with my windows open, learning to let go. Enjoy!
