Where I'm From Poem
I am from horse shows and guitar strings plucking to a tune.
I am from an old white farm house that has been in my family for generations.
I am from the colorful picture God made in the morning, warm summer nights catching fireflies, and family dinners.
I am from harmonized laughter and the kids causing trouble.
I am from Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, and Hank Williams, and everyone singing along. (Even if we aren't very good.)
I am from a catholic church my father grew up to, C.C.D. every month.
From the the grandmother who worked on the factory to support her six kids, and a grandfather who guarded the coast.
I am all of these things.
That began, where I’m from.
