Nature is what we see—
sometimes what we hear.
Wet is the moist soil we run across with bare feet.
Dark is the woods, when we can see nothing but trees.
Harmony is the sound of the chirping some animals make,
yet sometimes we are overwhelmed by silence
as we stare at some trees.
A picture hardly describes the beauty we see.

The cool water rushes through the cracks of our toes
as the sun beats down on our chapped shoulders.
The refreshing water cools our warm skin,
as the water engulfs us.
The sea of rock formations fill our brain,
everchanging.
As high as the sky,
they appear to never end.

Nature is what we see—
sometimes what we hear.
Dry is the grass after it hasn’t rained for months.
Light is the sun, shining it’s hardest through the cracks between trees.
Screeching is the sound of an animal getting attacked by its predator,
yet sometimes we are overwhelmed by silence
as we stare at into those woods.
A picture hardly describes the beauty we see.
