Generations
  I noticed their eyes first
  Blue, startling sapphires
Twin images in all their faces.
  They all looked the same
  Their smiles, their dimpled cheeks
The love they seemed to spread.
I didn’t pay attention in the beginning.
I didn’t care about their eyes or their smiles.
  I hated that I didn’t have them.
  Until I noticed beyond them
Looking into the distance, in between the gaps they left
A girl with green eyes and a boy with a freckled nose.
