"Beautiful Things"
“Everything has beauty,
but not everyone can see it.” ~Confucius
Beauty hides in the ordinary things,
like snowflakes falling from the sky,
each one unique and different,
creating a mass of pure white.
Beauty lurks in the small things,
like a grain of sand,
alone, insignificant,
but when combined
with others forms a beach
of white smooth sand.
Beauty disguises itself in the colorful things,
like a sunset
and its kaleidoscope
of reds, oranges, golds, and pinks;
in the deepest blue
of the ocean and sky,
and in the colorful spectrum
of a rainbow
that reminds us of God’s promise.
Beauty is found
in each and everyone of us,
shown not on the outside
but revealed within.
