Cambridge Elementary School
step, step
Step after step
As I step into your cell
My eyes glaring at you
Disgusted face
Eyes open wide
Mouth closed shut
One day
one day
one day.
Is all it took for you
To let me go.
Tears forming
Feet storming
Hands counting
One day
One day
One day
Is all it took for you
To shatter my mother's heart
I was seven
I was confused
Threw me out
Words started forming
Your anger started calling
Your Nosiness was annoying
One day
one day
one day
Is all it took for you
To break my heart.
If only, if only, if only
If only you open your Eyes
Your closed eyes
Your glaring eyes
And witness
What a successful human being
I have become.
But
Your eyes still closed
Your voice stills roars
how dare you, how dare you
Talk to me like that
Insult me like that
Shut me down like that
You selfless son of a b****!
But
thank you
Thank you for expelling me
Without your disgusting manners
Your showing patterns
Your disturbing comments
I wouldn't be
Standing on both my feet
Taller than Mount Everest
One day
one day
one day
Is all it took for you
To transform my life forever.

I wrote this poem because, when I was 7 years old I went to a Elementary school In the country of Jordan, known as Cambridge Elementary School. When I enrolled there the principal was informed that I am visually impaired and legally blind. I was expelled on my first day for that. This poem explains my feelings towards her and her harsh actions, and how I grew bigger and better afterwards!! Hope you find this poem both inspirational and heart warming!!
