550 Miles
1 week, 7 days, 168 hours.
You have 3 of those days and 40 of those hours to make a friendship that will last a lifetime.
How?
I play cards with my friends and notice a girl i’ve seen all week watching.
I invite her to play with us.
We talk for hours getting to know each other
Learning goofy things about the others state.
Curfew comes across.
We look at each other in sadness but quickly get each others numbers.
We text all night.
Morning comes and we have to leave.
We look at each other and give hugs not knowing if we would see each other again.
But, in our hearts we knew we had something special.
We leave.
Months pass and we still talk.
Snapchat all day, Instagram each week, text funny jokes.
Building up to one day I realize.
My best friend in the world lives 550 miles away from me.
How awful.
