Perfection
Masks of plastic faces
and silicone smiles
disguise the brittle bones
starved for perfection.
Strangled by puppet strings,
choking on ventriloquy,
clinging desperately to a bruised heart
ripping at the seams.
Collarbones cracking under the pressure
of forbidden desire
and tears that shred through flesh
like acid drizzling from tainted tongues.
Lips littered with ceaseless constellations
polluting blackened lungs with stardust.
Clinging lifelessly
to an abandoned,
shattered oblivion.
