Blazing heat from turf.
Fighting for forty minutes.
That’s what we live for.

Strapping on my pads.
Pumping iron all summer.
Lacing up my cleats.

Running all those stands.
Going for championship ring.
Friday is game day.

I love with your poem. The poem is describing Friday night football, which is my favorite time of the year. I love football, and when the poem said, “Fighting for forty minutes. That’s what we live for.” That’s how true football players feel before a game because I am one of them.
