A great civil war
Brother fights against brother
Cannibals on the loose

Hungry for our own flesh
Bloodthirsty soldiers ready to feast
Human consumption

Just as we turn our backs
The enemy sinks their lethal teeth
Into our raw meat

Humanity is lost
On war’s shady battle lines
Predator or prey

Perpetual turmoil
Where I eat you and you eat me
Cannibalistic

The author's comments:
These five haiku show the connection between civil war and cannibalism. In both instances, we are killing and going against our own people. Most people view cannibalism as disgusting and barbaric. Civil war is the exact same way.

I liked how you made each stanza a poem in itself. Only critque I have is grammar
