What Is Love?

You can’t describe love
Without the contradictions
It’s complicated
A sorrowful joy
Or perhaps a depressed hope
The fear found in life
With good intentions
Or no foundation of trust
This love can live on
Just so I can say—
Love is a toddler’s dumb mess
For us to pick up
Or to waddle in;
Most don’t really care that much
They're too much in love
