The Song I Won’t Write
His eyes are on her
The girl with sunset hair, who’s so unaware of his feelings
They look so good together, it’s a love story that you’re seeing
It’s crazy how much this one love song is revealing
He’s playing his guitar,
to the song she wrote about a boy who won’t love her
What he doesn’t know is that he’s the one she’s after
He’s hopelessly devoted, she’s a hopeless romantic,
the lyrics of this song, don’t even matter
Something about, autumn leaves and sweet sixteens,
Maybe, old CDs or forgotten dreams
Does she, know about how I’ve written those songs before
About the boy whose she’s said she’s fallen for
Tell me, why I can’t write the same painted lines
about all the crystal skies or trains that pass by
Call me selfless but the truth is I won’t fight
Cuz you belong in her songs, and not the ones I won’t write
