That will be the day.
Behind the starlit sky,
I hear a heartless cry.
The child lay broken against the floor,
The devil walks back out the door.
An evil malicious glint in his eye,
As he listens to his child cry.
Sometime he will get carried away,
That will be the day,
Oh that will be the day.
The day when the world cries,
Looking into his lifeless eyes.
The way the child’s heart no longer beats,
Oh that will be the day he faces defeat.
That will be the day the child flies up and away,
To a better place, oh that will be day.
The child will no longer feel the pain,
Because the devil took it away.
Along with the soul of an innocent,
A life that had been barely spent.
The world will mourn,
The devil will go on.
And that will be the day,
Oh that will be the day.
