"She was fascinated with words. To her words were things of beauty, each like a magical powder or potion that could be combinded with other words to create powerful spells." From: Lighting(By: Dean Koontz)

Can you hear my heart beat?

Can you feel my longing look?

Can you hear my silent words?

Can you taste my yearning kiss?

Can you see my wasting passion?

Can you feel my burning need?

Can you see my falling tears?

Can you come back to me?

Why do I cling so tight?

Why do you pull away?

I can see your desire for me;

it stares me in the face.

Ask me to let go.

Ask me to stop feeling.

Maybe, I could.

Maybe, I should.

But in the quiet of your pleads, I feel your love for me.

And in your tugging hand, I see the need to hang on.

Can you hear my beating heart?

Can you feel my look of longing?

Can you hear my words unspoken?

Can you taste my goodbye kiss?

Can you see my waning strength?

Can you feel my killing need?

Can you see my drying eyes?

Can you really say goodbye?

Why do I fight harder?

Why do you give up?

I won’t keep this up.

My grip as had enough.

Ask me to keep trying.

Ask me to stay.

Maybe, I could.

Maybe, I would.

But your distance, keeps me doubting.

And your loose grip gets me wondering…

Do you even want me back?

No…

Can you hear my heart beat?

Can you see my turning back?

Can you hear my slow footsteps?

Can you taste my finale kiss?

Can you see my sad acceptance?

Can you feel my tried sway?

Can you see my tearless eyes?

Can you hear me say goodbye?

Tell me, Fading Lover, do you miss me even now?

The author's comments:
This is about someone who is in a strained relationship. someone who keeps trying to make it work, but is in love with someone who doesn't care enough to work through the hard times. It's about learning to let go. And about people who don't know what they have until they don't have it anymore.
