White Balloons
One cloudy day when I was three
You took my hand and you showed me
We don’t need the sun to light our lives
Some of our greatest days
Come from dancing in the rain
Standing by that sky of doom
You gave me some white balloons
And told me they would guide my way
Because even heroes
Get lost in the dark
So I’m sending you these white balloons
To close the gap, the distance to
The time when it was me and you
Please tell me you see them
You’re so far away, I’m holding on
Your memory still keeps me strong
When you’re not with me
I hope I’m still a part of you
I know that you are in me too
So I’m sending you these white balloons
Let them carry me away
Carry me away
With you
And I’ll set out one stormy night
To let go of these white balloons
To send them off to you
Let the wind carry them away
Please don’t let them break
I hope they reach you in heaven
Reach you in heaven
Cause you’re out of my reach down here
Carry me away
