When I wake up
I see the skin
That I will wear for the day

I see the sun
and bask in its golden ray

I wonder when
The birds will awaken and sing

I ponder who
Is truly and justly my king.

When I wake up
I get out of bed
as fast as my body can do.

When I wake up
All of my thoughts
are urging the old to be new

My only wish
Is care to caress
is the lost love
is the strength to confess
