Awake
When I wake up
I see the skin
That I will wear for the day
When I wake up
I see the sun
and bask in its golden ray
When I wake up
I wonder when
The birds will awaken and sing
When i wake up
I ponder who
Is truly and justly my king.
When I wake up
I get out of bed
as fast as my body can do.
When I wake up
All of my thoughts
are urging the old to be new
My only wish
Is care to caress
is the lost love
is the strength to confess
My only wish
is getting it to go
is fighting my own foe
is washing away the woe
I am not alone
I am not alone
When I wake up
I see the skin
that I will where for the day
But there must be others
there has to be another
to watch with as my world sways
