The Little Boy
He’s shattered and battered and beaten to sleep.
His belly rumbles he only had scraps to eat.
He lies in bed and thinks “Why him”
Why couldn’t it be one of his friends?
His clothes are shreds of cloths and his shoes have holes the kids say they talk.
He hopes to be rescued and taken away.
Right now he prays he survives today.
Living in pain and suffering so long the little boy lives but not for long.
