When Playing in the Game

There's no shame in the game,
Because there's no blame for the fame.
People expect a spectacular win,
But sometimes all I have to offer is a self-conscious grin.
They placed me above one another,
In a place I don't want to be.
But I'm left here feeling entirely smothered.
They're just too blind to actually see.
