Stillness and Starlight
Oh reverent breeze, please guide me to the land,
Where curious frogs and gentle rivers play,
Transport me from this dull locale of bland
To glades where foxes scheme and wise wolves pray.
And in this land, I’ll once more rest my head
To gaze upon the lustrous stars of gold.
They’ll sing to me, and with my soul be wed,
Both heav’n and earth shall ne’er need be consoled.
Betwixt the hours of of midnight and of morn’,
Please free my eyes and ‘rouse me from my sleep.
Then carry me, and let my soul adorn
The body, where my endless troubles seep.
When I once more arise to noise and lies,
The stars that I once knew will hear my cries.
This piece is for anyone who feels stuck. This is for anyone who has held their head in their hands at 2 AM, drowning in work. This is for anyone who dreams about tommorow.
