Contemplating the Truth
Is there any true meaning to our lives?
Sometimes I start to wonder about it,
but the only answer I find, it’s chance,
there’s no set of rules, or edict, or writ.
Some argue that God set a place for all,
others simply state, one doesn’t exist.
If right, I’m okay, if wrong, I’ll burn,
I constantly ask if it’s worth the risk.
So does the higher power control things,
or can it really just be up to you?
The Stranger says that there is no meaning,
The Hitchhiker’s Guide says it’s forty-two.
I guess that in the end, you must believe,
that life is what you make it to be.
