I Love the Color of your Gentle Eyes
I love the color of your gentle eyes.
Purely are they blue like the ocean
Or fade into the color of the skies.
How they enchant me like a love potion!
The tropical waters of Hawaii
Cannot compare to their beautiful blue.
They shine as though they were the summer’s sea.
Love, if your eyes could sing, it would be true
That they would sing the song of the blue jay.
And if the blue in your eyes had flavor
Sweet blueberries under the sun of May.
How they twinkle is what I most favor.
And if they gave off a lovely fragrance,
They’d smell like the blue rose of our romance.
