Beyond
May I open your eyes to worlds beyond?
And ride an angel's wings to golden flame
Where life and breath share little of a bond
Where time-a mighty beast-for once is tame

The journey of a hero or a king
The wisdom of a water droplet's mind
The notes not heard in simple songs we sing
And nothingness that's nothing of the kind

"Oh no," you say, "everything's black and white"
But no, in this world never is that true
And not a smile comes without a fight
And hateful red's a brother of kind blue
May I hold your hand, simply close your eyes
And open them again in spacious skies
