The Other Side
She was my best friend from the other side,
Was always up to something, good or bad.
Someone with numberless secrets to hide.
When I would not join her she was so mad.
A hot potato, that is what I was,
Dropped at the first sign of scalding her hands.
She said all that mattered was what it does
And when caught she said I’d outed her plans.
They shipped her off saying she’d heal with time,
But they did not know her like I once had.
No one but me knew how she loved to shine.
Everyone was surprised when things went bad.
So now I stand here by her grave and pray,
That all of her troubles are far away.
