Mother's Nature
I was the water beneath their feet, the
Warm breeze that swept past them as
They took their first steps to The Promise Land.
I moved them forward with little persuasion,
Their minds racing with the anticipation of
Life being given by my gentle hand.
The trees twisted before their eyes;
The sounds of the past filling their souls
As my warm breath filled the air.
The coyote called to you, the sky blushed,
The ancient faces of years gone by,
Gathered, their whispers hushed.
Your faces, I remember, to this day,
Were filled with love and joy,
But I knew the future you had ahead;
To fight, loathe and destroy.
