For My Father
He walked this earth in such a gentle manner,
made quite a few friends as he went along,
raised a small family with a mother
which I am proud to say that I belong.
He was quite known for his superior mind
and his façade, silent and quite austere.
I knew him different, funny and kind
and he is loved, as well as he is feared.
One day, all that changed almost suddenly.
His death, a moment I'll never forget
Memories of him I kept have changed me
and those thoughts will stay and shall never set.
Not for another, nor the bad nor sad,
you are always my one and only Dad.
