The Dream
Dreaming of us, I release many sighs.
I long to breathe in the sweet scent of thee.
Leaning in for a kiss, I close my eyes
And when they open, thy beauty I see.
Though my heart’s vulnerable and open,
Thy embrace keeps me safe and protected.
With every soft, charming word that’s spoken,
You keep me warm, our love is perfected.
Shivers ripple down my spine with a touch,
And I’m awake, only to face a dream.
Yearning for love, so this feeling I clutch,
Hoping our hearts may be sewn with a seam.
With this dream I desire, I hold so dear,
But until then, lingers a single tear.
