Think of Me
Think of me with cheeks aflush and glowing
Cheerful and light, never without a grin
Think of me gathering roses each morning
Delicately placing them in each bin
Think of me skipping graceful and pretty
My hair free and billowing to the floor
Think of me trying hard to be witty
And laughing that laugh that you so adore
Please do not think of me as I am now
With pale cheeks and a small feeble smile
Desperately wishing we could laugh how
We used to if just for a little while
As I lie here in this hospital bed
I hope you think of me dancing instead
