The Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scott O'Dell
In this wonderful book "The Island of the Blue Dolphins" by Scott O'Dell is about a young girl whose tribe gets taken away by these people in ships. Now it's just her and her brother. But not for long her brother ends up getting attacked by these wild dogs. One day she finds one of the dogs injured and ends up becoming friends with him. Will she ever see her family again or will she be alone for the rest of her life.
I would suggest this book for people in 6th-High School. This book kept me off of my seat. When I was reading this great story of hope and courage I could feel my heart beating out of my chest, even though it can be sad. This book makes me feel like I'm right in front of the characters.
Scott O'Dell was born in L.A. in 1898. He wrote 26 books for the highest international award given to an author of children books. This book won a Newberry Medal Award. It is a great adventure story and you won't want to put the book down.
