"Stay Strong"
You never understood what somebody meant by "Stay Strong."
You always thought, 'Why are they getting weak?'
So you always just ignored it.
But,
As you got older and more mature,
You started High School,
And suddenly, out of no where,
You understood it.
"Stay Strong"
It wasn't until
It all got to be way too much
For one person to hold and carry on their shoulders.
They bully you, make fun of you, hurt you,
Physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Then the sadness and all of the depression
Hit you in the back like a bullet
Going straight through your lungs,
Stealing your breath away before you could move.
You break down, crying and screaming.
You don't think you can take it anymore.
You attempt to slow down your racing heart beat before it beats you in the marathon, but you automatically realize that it isn't your heart that is killing you. It's your lungs. You feel your heart sink to your stomach and fall to your knees, causing your large, fragile heart to shatter into sharp pieces. You fall onto your side and feel as if the shards of your heart are slicing open your lungs even more. Panting, Attempting to scream for your mother as you bang on the floor with a random shoe, you finally come to a conclusion that this is how you will go, how you will die. You don't want to die, you aren't ready yet.
"Stay Strong"
Do it. Now.
Your soul sends several messages to your exhausted brain.
Don't you dare give up. Not you, not yet.
You pull yourself up off of the cold, slick, hardwood floor, and crawl to the door. You swing the door open and try to yell.
Nothing.
You crawl into the living room and hear her in the kitchen, making supper like she always would when your dad was around. You want to cry so bad, but you can't do it. You keep crawling and fall down. 'Give up already, kid' your brain says tormently.
No.
For one last try, you try to scream.
You do it.
"Mom!"
She comes rushing in and kneels down. She hugs the living crap out of you.
A year passes.
You see your mom making supper and walk in, hugging her.
All out of nowhere, she hugs you back, crying.
You soothe her and smile, "Mom,"
She looks at you with tear and makeup stained cheeks,
"Stay Strong."
