The light breeze pushed against my hard face. I looked right. Then left. Closed my eyes, and took one step onto one of the busiest streets in New York City. Adrenaline rushed through me at the speed of lightning. I tightened my fists to the point where I was leaving an imprint of my nails against my rough palm. I took my hand out of my pocket to cover my red, cold ears, with my red beanie. Clicking my high heel brown boots against the hard cement, I walked as fast as my tiny legs could go. I moved so fast, that I was practically running like a horse. Trying to gallop, run, walk, and skip at the same time. I probably looked like a dork, but who did I care? But I wasn’t fast enough. My eyes started to give up on me, and my legs started to become jello. “Almost...there...” I told myself. They said I couldn’t do it. But I wanted to prove them wrong. I had to make it. I couldn’t live in hiding anymore. Then my toe hit the curb. And I collapsed.

When writing this piece, I didn't enclose myself into any certain topic. Rather, I let my imagination flow to all sorts of different ideas. What I like about this piece is that although it is fiction, it can be a true story for some. I hope you enjoy!
