The Popular Girl, and the Mute
Maria:” Hey! What do you think you’re doing in my seat?!” She said to Lily across the cafeteria.
Lily: Having a startled look on her face she shrugged and then continued to eat lunch.
Maria:” Answer me!” She practically screamed.
She had this angry expression on her face. Like she was ready to punch her ex in the face.
Maria was known as the popular girl of the group. She was the Queen Bee so to speak.
Lily was known as the nerd of the school. Not being able to defend herself she had to deal with being made fun of as well as getting bullied for homework answers.
Lily: She quickly pulled out a piece of paper and a pen. She scribbled down the words. “I can’t talk, what do you want from me?”
Maria:” Oh, you can’t speak?” Too bad whine all you want. I. Don’t. Care! Just move to your little nerd table with the rest of your little rats.”
Maria had a stern look on her face. Determination. She wouldn’t leave until she got what she wanted.
Lily: Lily wrote, “Well I found the seat first, and I sat down in it first. So, what are you going to do about that?”
Maria: She read the page, and slowly glanced up.”Do not ask me what I’m doing about you, you seat stealer!”
Maria broke. After saying those words they came out as more of a cry for help rather than fighting words.
Lily looked at her. Astounded by what she had done. She had broken a popular girl. She made her so angry to the point where she blew up in front of the whole school!
Maria was like a bomb. Set to blow up, and just a matter of time until she would destruct.
