Crazy Casey
It was May 21, 1983 Casey had just turned 14. She had spent her birthday crying in her room like any other day. She didn’t go to school, she had dropped out in the 5th grade because of all of the bruises down her arms and the black eyes. She got tired of people asking “Honey what happened to you? You look horrible!”. Casey tried to love her parents even though they didn’t love her back. Casey’s parents were “High School Dropouts” is what her grandma used to tell her before her mom came out of the blue and picked her up.
Casey pulled the knife from under her pillow, getting up quietly she tiptoed up the stairs. The knife still clutched in her hand with fear. As she peered over her mother putting the knife to her temple. Casey’s mother turning of uncomfort opened her eyes to find Caesy holding a knife to her head.
“Casey what in God's creation are you doing?” her mother said. Casey looked her mother in her eyes and with great fear. Turning back around, she walked back to her room silently weeping. She felt the need to kill her mom, but Casey felt it was wrong and that she should just forget about the abuse. But she couldn’t, she tried. Casey’s mother began to wonder if Casey was crazy, but she got to thinking everyone has crazy dreams, was she really going to stab me I doubt it that’s my little girl she wouldn’t hurt me. Several days later, Casey sat on her bed listening to classical boring music. Casey had a better idea to kill her mom. She had packed her bags of everything she wanted or needed in her new life. Casey set her backpack outside by an old decaying tree went to the garage and grabbed the half empty gas can.
’’ I hope this is a enough.’’ she said. She walked back to the front wooden deck and began pouring the gasoline on the brand new deck her mom had built with the money they really didn’t have to spare.’’ Okay I have 1 hour before mom gets home from work!’’ Casey said to herself.
Casey climbed the stairs to the wooden deck up to the front door. She walked in and started pouring gasoline on the old worn down carpet. ‘’She’s going to notice the smell of the gas in here’’, said Casey.
She walked down the trailer hall and opened the back door and all of the surrounding windows to let out the harsh smell. Casey lived in the country where people hardly went. So people wouldn’t see the flames of the blazing trailer. Casey put the rest of the gas in the push mower and began mowing. In the front of the trailer so that her mom wouldn’t suspect anything with the gas smell. Casey’s mom pulled in the rocky drive as soon as she reached the top of the drive she shut the engine off. “Thank you kiddo for mowing the yard I have a lot of laundry to
do!” Casey’s mom exclaimed. She walked in the house without even realizing the gas smell. ‘’I have no idea how she didn’t smell that.’’ Casey thought to herself. ‘’Mom are you a little stuffy today?’’ said Casey. ‘’Uh yea why?’’ replied mom.’’ You just sound a little stuffed up today that's all.’’ Casey said nervously.
Mom had a close line in the back. Casey went to the “Junk drawer” and started digging for matches or a lighter. The only lighter she found was empty and no luck with matches. Casey thought to herself for a brief moment. “The stove!’’ she whispered to herself. She ripped a piece of paper from the notebook sitting on the table. She lit the gas stove, lit the blank paper and stepped on the deck and sent it to flames. The trail of gas made its way into the trailer. Casey saw the giant flames through the living room window. Casey made her way to the back yard to make sure it went to her mother’s room where she last was. Casey walked around the edge of the trailer to find her mom weeping with a laundry basket in her hands saying how did this happen. “Oh Casey, are you okay?’’ her mom cried. ‘’Yea, I'm fine. I thought you were in your room.’’ said Casey with anger and shock. Casey’s mom called the fire station, but by the time they reached the house it was in pieces on the ground. The trailer was total ash. Casey looked at the black weak house. As she watched her mother cry and watch the smoke roll in the air.’’Mom lets got to stay at a homeless shelter tonight. You need some rest,we will figure something out tomorrow’’, said Casey. The whole ride to town was silent, tears for Casey’s mom. But not for Casey in her head, she was thinking of another way to kill her mom. Even though Casey's mom acts different and doesn’t beat on her anymore Casey still wants revenge on her. She hurt Casey till the time she was 8. Her grandmother saved her by taking her for about 4 years. Casey and her mom had reached the shelter. Casey’s mom got out of the big red truck she was driving. “Stay here I’m going to see if they have any spots left”, Casey’s mom walked in the shelter doors. It started to rain a little bit. Caseys mom came out of the shelter about five minutes later. Jumping up to reach the step of the truck Casey’s mom said, ”Their full!” “Well i guess we can go the next Motel 6 we see, it’s cheap!”, said Casey’s mom with a short giggle. They drove about 2 miles before they saw the next Motel 6. The big sign flashing in red $34.99. As mom pulled in front of our room Casey said, “Mom why don’t you get in a nice warm bath?” “Sound like a great idea and sounds nice and relaxing!” Casey and her mother entered the room. Things were scattered everywhere, but set up nicely. The carpet was rough and the pillows were hard. But it was still cheap. Casey went straight to the bathroom and started running warm water. Casey, mom took off her coat and Casey lit candles for her mom. She went and got the radio from off of the night stand that was in between the 2 beds. Casey had thought about drowning her mom, but she couldn’t take the pain of seeing her mom suffer. Casey’s mom stepped in the bathtub with a sigh of relief and relaxation. Closing her eyes as she lay in the warm water of the bathtub. Casey came interrupting saying,
”Would you like to listen to music?” “Yes dear that would be great.” replied her mom.
Casey turned on the radio to a random station with music playing. Casey pushed the radio in the bathtub with her mom dosing away inside! Casey ran out so she didn’t have to see the pain. She waited a few minutes until she smelled the burning flesh. She walked in to find her mother's body smoking and the outlet too. She knew her mother was gone, no life left in her. Casey ran to the bed crying so hard, gasping for air every 6 seconds. ‘’What have I done?!’’ Casey cried. Casey sat on the bed for a minute or 2 to function. She got up and grabbed her mother’s keys from off of the bed with her bags. Casey left the hotel room. Mom had taught Casey how to drive a while back. She had parked in the parking garage and slept there. The next morning Casey was woken up by a police officer, she thought she was in trouble for the murder of her mother. Casey panicked and frantically rolled down the window.
“Yes, officer?” said Casey. “M’am, may I ask why you're still parked here?” said officer Jenkins. “Uh yea sorry I kinda fell asleep.” “I won’t give a ticket this time and this is your warning!” said the officer.
Casey pulled out of the parking garage. She hadn’t ate in almost 14 hours. 30 minutes later Casey pulled into the Clovers parking lot. The sign displayed “The Best Breakfast in town!”. Casey sat down to order her food. Watching Full house on the wall television on the wall, the tv then displayed, “Breaking News!” “A woman found in a motel 6 bathtub! As the clock hit 12 o'clock housekeeping came in to clean the room thinking everyone was gone…” Casey panicked and started sobbing quietly. “Our main suspect is Casey Hamming. She was last seen with this woman!” As the tv screen flashed a picture of Casey on the screen she began to sweat. Everyone was beginning to stare at Casey. The server that was serving Casey looked at her frantically. The server pushed to little red button under the counter that the cash register was sitting. That was the button for emergencies only, but to the server that was an emergency. There was a murderer in the restaurant that she was working on. The police arrived immediately. They took Casey into custody. With that big red truck still sitting in Clover’s parking lot. Back at the station where Detective Kate Beckett and Writer Richard Castle were interrogating Casey in the Interrogation Room. Casey was crying, saying yes she did it. And that she didn’t mean to hurt her. Casey was placed in a room and taken to her new cell with her new cellmates. She would be held here until her court date on May 31,1983. When Casey went to court, she got charged with Arson for burning her house down into ashes. Casey got life in prison without parole. Casey had so many charges has ever heard or seen from Crazy Casey Hamming.
