Climb On
I remember the first time I held you. “You do realize I’m never letting go, don’t you?” I remember you squeezing back. “I never want you to.” I know we are falling apart. We are heading in different directions. But guess what? I told you I’d never let go. I’m not about to break that promise. You remember that time we went rock climbing? You know that guy that holds the rope in case you slip; the belayer? Well, I’m your belayer. And you know what? No matter how far you move away from me, I’ll always be at the end of your rope. And I’m never letting go. You can slip as many times as you like, and I will always catch you. Climb on.
