Flaking light brown hand-painted walls with many pictures of the victorian era. Booths line the restaurant with tall walls around each one. Big circular bar in the middle of the restaurant with tall stools every 3 feet. Black and white tiled floor with ripping grout. The brown lights were dimmed. Four guests sat on four of the stools facing away from the bar. Two police officers standing 6 feet away from the guests. Victim laying on the floor next to a booth with half-eaten food and drink on the table.

POLICE OFFICER 1
When did you last see the victim? Lilith correct?

TARA (FIRST GUEST)
Yes her name is Lilith. Well, we saw her start to seize at our booth while we were celebrating her promotion at work.

POLICE OFFICER 2
What all did she have to eat and drink?

MATEO (THIRD GUEST)
She had spaghetti with garlic bread and…

Mateo (Third Guest) takes a short pause

MATEO (THIRD GUEST)
Ahh she had a strawberry milkshake with that

POLICE OFFICER 2
Did she leave the table at any time during the evening

KAMALA (FOURTH GUEST)
She went to the bathroom twice, the first time to wash her hands and the second time to go to the bathroom after drinking all of her milkshakes.

POLICE OFFICER 1
Was there ever a time when all of the food was left unattended

TARA (FIRST GUEST)
Nope, once we got to the table, at least one of us was here at all times.

POLICE OFFICER 1
How long did you wait to get your food?

MATEO (THIRD GUEST)
About 30 minutes, the usual wait around here

Police Officer 2 looks to William/will (Second guest)

POLICE OFFICER 2
You’ve been awfully quiet, anything you’d like to say

WILLIAM/WILL (SECOND GUEST)
Sorry, I’m still in shock that this managed to happen

POLICE OFFICER 1
It is normal to feel that way, I think it’s time officer 2 and I examine the crime scene for ourselves once backup arrives.

Police sirens go off and Police Officer 3 enters from stage left.

POLICE OFFICER 1
Well, look who it is. Please stay right here while Officer 2 and I examine the crime scene

Police Officer 1 and Police Officer 2 go over to the booth with a body near.

POLICE OFFICER 2
Don’t you think it’s weird that William didn’t give us any details about anything?

POLICE OFFICER 1
A grieving young man in shock after seeing his friend die in front of him, you should not be so rude

Police Officer 1 takes out a flashlight and a pair of blue latex gloves from his pocket. He puts on the gloves and turns on the flashlight. He shines the flashlight into the booth. He picks up the milkshake glass and examines it.

POLICE OFFICER 1
Come take a look at this? It looks like a faint lipstick stain on the top of the glass. Looks to be wiped off but not good enough.

Police Officer 2 walks over and closely looks at the rim of the glass. She takes the flashlight and shines it onto Lilith's (Victim) mouth.

POLICE OFFICER 2
Well, it’s not our victim, she isn’t wearing any lipstick, are you sure it’s the right glass.

POLICE OFFICER 1
It was the only strawberry milkshake on the table, I am assuming it’s hers.

POLICE OFFICER 2
Kamala had a dark shade of red on her lips

POLICE OFFICER 1
Hmm, that’s weird. Maybe put her on a suspect list.

Officer 1 puts the glass back onto the table and squats down by Lilith (victim)

POLICE OFFICER 1
There is a bit of foam and drool around her face

Officer 1 carefully opens Lilith's (victim) mouth and sees Lilith's (victim) mouth full of white foam.

POLICE OFFICER 2
I think it’s poisoning, in most cases, we’ve seen with foamy mouths, seventy-five percent of the time its poison

POLICE OFFICER 1
What’s the other twenty-five percent?

POLICE OFFICER 2
Drug overdose, acid reflux, heart attack, rabies

POLICE OFFICER 1
I think it’s best if we go back to questioning

Lights dim and all guests walk back onstage from stage left to center stage and sit back on stools. Police Officer 1 and Police Officer 2 go stand in front of guests with Police Officer 3 behind the bar getting a drink. Kamala (Fourth guest) is paler than before and her lips lose their color.

POLICE OFFICER 1
Police officer 3, stay on stand by

Police Officer 3 nods and walk out through stage left.

POLICE OFFICER 2
Just a couple more questions we need to ask, Was the victim on any kind of drugs

KAMALA (FOURTH GUEST)
What kind of question is that? This is a murder, not a drug overdose

POLICE OFFICER 1
Ma’am we are just trying to do our job, did she possibly have rabies, had acid reflux, or any heart attack symptoms

TARA (FIRST GUEST)
I don’t think so, but you’d have to ask someone else, I wasn’t that close with her

KAMALA (FOURTH GUEST)
She didn’t have rabies, acid reflux, or any heart attack symptoms, or possibly a family history of heart attacks, there is no way any of those are possible.

Kamala (Fourth guest) starts to shake lightly

POLICE OFFICER 2
Kamala, Are you alright?

Kamala (Fourth guest) doesn’t respond, Kamala (Fourth guest) starts to lookup

POLICE OFFICER 1
Hello, Kamala?

Kamala's (Fourth guest’s) eyes roll back and fall onto the floor. Police Officers 1 and 2 quickly sit next to her. Police officer 1 feels for a pulse

POLICE OFFICER 1
We have no pulse, start CPR

Police officer 2 starts chest compressions. William/Will (Second guest) starts crying

WILLIAM (SECOND GUEST)
Come on Kamala, stay with us

POLICE OFFICER 2
I'm getting nothing

Police officer 2 stops compressions and sighs

POLICE OFFICER 1
We need you all to step outside while we investigate further. Police officer 2 will escort you out.

Police officer 2, First guest, Second guest, and fourth guest leave through stage left. Police officer 1 looks at fourth guest’s mouth. White foam oozed out of fourth guest's mouth. Police officer 2 comes in from stage left

POLICE OFFICER 1
I think poison is our killer. Both victims have foamy mouths and it didn’t seem that Kamala had a heart attack

POLICE OFFICER 2
We should go back to the original crime scene and look for more hints of that.

Police officer 1 and police officer 2 walk over to Lilith(victim) and her crime scene. Police officer 1 starts to move around all of the items on the booth table. Police Officer 1 lifts up the booth seat to reveal a storage compartment with a empty glass bottle in the corner.

POLICE OFFICER 2
What is that?

Police officer 1 picks up the bottle and examines it. He turns the bottle around and reads the label.

POLICE OFFICER 1
Posion, It’s poison

Police officer 1 has his mouth open in shock and Police officer is taken aback

POLICE OFFICER 2
What type of poison is it?

POLICE OFFICER 1
It’s Botulinum toxin, at most 1 nanogram per kilogram can kill a human.

POLICE OFFICER 2
This was most definitly a murder. The milkshake is most likely where the posion was put.

Lights dim and all guests walk back onstage from stage left to center stage and sit back on stools. Police Officer 1 and Police Officer 2 go stand in front of guests

TARA (FIRST GUEST)
Why can’t you let us all go home already, haven’t you done enough questioning

POLICE OFFICER 1
You are all suspects in this investigation, we are not going to rest until we solve this case.

MATHEO (THIRD GUEST)
Come on man, we witnessed two of our friends deaths today and we are exhausted.

POLICE OFFICER 2
Can you tell us every single detail from the moment you stepped into this diner to when Lilith died. Every single detail.

TARA (FIRST GUEST)
We all walked in here together after Lilith called us to tell us about her work promotion. We sat down at the booth that she died at. First I ordered, then Kamala, Matheo, Will and then Lilith. She ordered last because she couldn’t decide between a strawberry milkshake and a lemonade.

WILLIAM (SECOND GUEST)
But they were out of lemonade anyways so she had to order a Strawberry milkshake. Then we all ordered our food. After we ordered our food, Tara and Lilith went to the bathroom and Lilith was hated going to the bathroom alone, so Tara went with.

POLICE OFFICER 1
Where were you, Kamala and Mateo?

WILLIAM (SECOND GUEST)
Kamala and I went to the bakery across the street to check out the desserts they had. Lilith loved sweets and we though it would be a good gift to give her for her work promotion.

POLICE OFFICER 2
Mateo, where were you?

MATEO (THIRD GUEST)
I was sitting at the table since I got a call from my dad. He’s on vacation in New York and he wanted to fill me in on his adventures.

POLICE OFFICER 2
So you were alone at the table, Correct?

MATEO (THIRD GUEST)
Yes I was

POLICE OFFICER 1
What happened after

TARA (FIRST GUEST)
Lilith and I came back and about ten minutes later Will and Kamala came back with nothing.

WILLIAM (SECOND GUEST)
We couldn’t find the kind of cheesecake she liked and her favorite pie was out of stock so we gave up on trying to find something

TARA (FIRST GUEST)
We all sat back down and our food came. Kamala took Lilith’s milkshake and took a big gulp of it since she ran out of her drink and the waiter hadn’t returned with a refill yet.

POLICE OFFICER 2
How did everyone react to that

TARA (FIRST GUEST)
Lilith was upset that she drank her milkshake. Will was laughing at Liliths anger and so was I. Mateo was sorta shocked that Kamala drank it.

MATEO (THIRD GUEST)
I though she didn’t like strawberries

WILLIAM (SECOND GUEST)
What are you talking about, strawberries were Kamala’s favorite

POLICE OFFICER 1
Mateo can we bring you in for questioning?

MATEO (THIRD GUEST)
What? You think I did this?

POLICE OFFICER 1
Thats not what we are saying.

Mateo quickly stands up and pull a gun out that was tucked in the waistband of his pants. He points it at Police Officer 1. Tara(first guest) and Will(second guest) gasp.

POLICE OFFICER 2
Woah, Mateo lets talk about this

MATEO (THIRD GUEST)
Yall should have never gotten involved and this would never have happened

POLICE OFFICER 1
Please put down your weapon

MATEO (THIRD GUEST)
You want to know how I did it? I put the poison in the straw of her drink so once she threw it away there would be no evidence

POLICE OFFICER 2
Then how did Kamala die, she drank from the rim and not the straw

MATEO (THIRD GUEST)
Its hard to be precise in a rush. I got some into the drink and assumed she would be the one drinking it all.

POLICE OFFICER 2
Why would you want to kill Lilith

MATEO (THIRD GUEST)
She stole MY promotion! I was supposed to be promoted until she started the lie that I was stealing items from the office and I had to be investigated. She deserved what she got, Kamala was an accident.

POLICE OFFICER 1
Why would you leave the poison bottle at the crime scene

MATEO (THIRD GUEST)
I was simply going to frame Kamala, she works in forensics so she has access to poison, it would be easiest access for her to get some.

Police officer 3 quitlly sneaks up behind Mateo(Third guest) and hits the gun out of his hand. Mateo scrammbles to reach for the gun but Police officer 3 kicks it forward towards police officer 1. Police officer 3 handcuffs Mateo(Third guest) and leads him off stage left. Police officer 1, Police officer 2, Tara(First guest), and Will(Second guest) walk off stage left.
