United Nations Junior Ambassador Speech-Goal #4-Quality Education
Education is a human right that is needed for young people to grow and improve themselves and contribute to society as well. The young generation is the future for our world and they will be in charge of our society in the future. However, access to education is still a challenge for almost 250 million children that are wanting to learn and make a change. The potential for every child out there has no limits but instead it is being wasted because some struggle to have equal and fair access to quality education.
One of the main reasons for the lack of access to education for children is the big conflicts that are going around them. War is a big factor today, like the conflict with Russia and Ukraine that has sent over 3 million students to virtual learning. It has been proven that virtual learning isn’t the most efficient way to learn. I have had some experience with virtual learning before in the year 2020 and let me tell you that it isn’t as effective as in person learning and is probably one of the most annoying things our generation has experienced. Another factor would be discrimination against people that deal with gender, race, disabilities and many more. We need to help the children who are suffering from a lack of a quality education because it wasn’t even their fault.
With the issue of quality education for children being of such paramount importance today, the necessary support needed for them is very scarce. School employees and staff are in high demand and schools lack teachers to help students learn. Teachers are treated unfairly with the lack of respect they get in the community, the long hours, and the very minimal they get for their efforts. The young generation needs to be taught respect but with the lack of teacher support, it is hard to keep a child's focus nowadays. It is also a financial problem for teachers as they work very hard just for a small paycheck. This experience is making many people consider choosing other careers besides teaching.
Overall the United Nations is doing everything in their power to make every uneducated child's dream come true. They have built and developed programs like The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization(UNESCO) that can provide a lot of technical support for countries in need. Proper funding for schools is also what the UN has done with the Global Partnership for Education that gives funds to schools in need.
The United Nations needs help today as many childrens’ educational needs are dire. So I am asking everyone for collaboration and support for these children and take the right actions so that they can receive the quality education that they deserve. Thank you everyone for listening.

This was a speech performed by me that was a competition for a United Nations Junior Ambassador Role. I take education very seriously and I would like to have the same education for every child in the world. Lack of education would affect everyone in the world with the children still in school, they are our future.
