Let Go
I’ve had my hands tied and I’ve held on, but it’s getting too long now. The feeling of going down way too deep, but I look down and I’m already there. I think its time to let go, me and you. The sun will rise, and trees will grow around us, butterflies will fly towards us, if you just let go. Don’t you know we’re in a bad place? Third summers just aren’t that same as the first. By the bay, the wind, yes it will be alright. Just let go, and you’ll see so clear it’ll make you cry. When you let go, everything will be easier, even though it’s been hard, just got to take a breath and let go. If I stay where I am, and you just go to a bigger city, you just got to let go. It’s okay, I have your green eyes and you can have my hazel ones. Maybe when they turn blue-green, you’ll understand. In the beginning you grabbed my hand and smiled, but now your smile is not the same. I guess I just don’t want to hold your hand anymore, so just let go.
