Summary:

Keina is a Slavinica, a race of nomad bred to be slaves. She worked in the land of Ebonwood for the leader of the dark races, Barzilla who had declared war on the world of the Land's Below, Caval Elle destroying them and forcing their inhabitants to the Land's Above. During a raid on Ebonwood, Keina is captured and taken to Aylwin, the residing place for those who lived in the Land's Below. She is asked for the information she carries about the Tiers, creatures created by Barzilla for the pure purpose of killing, giving them special "gifts" or "Talents" that can make them stronger.
Keina falls in love with the King Allistair, unfolding what leads to Barzilla's destruction.
