The world is a stage, and we are merely players- Shakespeare (at least it goes something like that!!)

Walking around the school halls people talking about who's hot and who's not. Chatting about who they like and who they dislike, who they want to date and who they don't. I'm in middle school and already people my age are talking about dating! I think we are too young to date in my opinion. Recently my friend got a boyfriend and she's only 11!!! I think we need to live in the moment of our age. Have fun playing soccer and keep crushes, crushes until you're older. I understand kids liking the oppisite sex, but dating? I keep telling my friends that we're young and she be running around and playing sports. They just ignore me and shake it off. What do you think?

i actually people make a much bigger deal of dating then there has to be

if you like someone and they like you go out have somme fun

boyfriend or girlfriend doesn't mean committed to life. i think people take it way too seriously and they should just relax and go with the flow.

my first boyfriend was in 7th grade and honestly it was just a bit of summer fun. nothing too serious

I think you should start dating like at age 13 or 14, when you understand what a "relashionship" really is. this is my opinion. You should not start dating at 11 or 12, its kinda to young.

I personally enjoyed watching the fun, new adventure of sixth grade couples. They weren't serious; they were just having fun. Just like crushes I had at the age; I didn't want to marry anyone but I enjoyed admiring them. Once we got a little older it became serious and we considered a relationship before jumping into it.

I agree too! I just turned 15 and I think kids our age should be focusing on school and having fun! We have the rest of our lives to date!

In a perfect world a broken heart is fixed.

I think it's ok to date when your young...But anything that happens when your young is never going to last. I have never dated but almost everyone i know has. Which means everyone i know has either been dumped or dumped someone else... So basically its just a way of being more popular...

Don't think twice, it's all right.

If you really feel something for someone you don't have to hold that back. I understand what you mean but things change and if you fell like it's not enough to take it to the next level that's fine too. But there is a problem if you try to deny your feelings just because you think that you're too young.

I understand what you mean. I made the same mistake as your friend. I am thirteen now and believe that dating is highly overrated but I can't help feeling love. Even as a young person, I believe you can feel love or at the very least deep adoration. I don't like it very much because I feel like I'm not in control of myself and I've always been a control freak but I still don't think there can be too young for love because then there'd have to be too old for love. I do however think that there is too busy for love and that's why I feel young people shouldn't revolve their lives around dating. We're too busy having fun!

I feel ya. In junior high at first I was really jealous about all the people dating. But after a few months I really found it stupid. Dating early is just a huge distraction from school, friends, and being just your plain old self. I'm fifteen and while sometimes I do wish I had a boyfriend I'm also glad that I don't feel obligated to hang out with someone all the time. I can do whatever I want and there is never drama or distractions.

I agree! At my school, kids in like 6th and 7th grade were already talking about how madly 'in love' they were when they had been "dating" for about a total of 2 days. I think kids should wait to date till they're older. Have fun, be a kid, hang out with your friends, that's what its about! :) Keep it up!

It's never to late, if it weren't for the last minute many things would never get done!

Kids think simple crushes are love, which is so untrue. Real love is when you care for the other person not just think he is hot or whatever. Kids love to make big deals out of nothing. Live your kid life with joy and carefreeness. When you're older you can go through the heart-breaking process of love.

My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to.

As someone who fell in love (real love) for the first time at 14, I don't think it's anyone's place to tell kids they can't be in love. Are they too young the first time--perhaps. Do the majority of kids believe they're in love when they're not actually in love? Yes. And while 11 may be too young for love, I don't see any harm in dating that may provide experience for love in later years.

i think that people should be able to decide whether or not they should date at the age of 14, 11 is way too young, i know kids though that date at the age of 8, i oppose that majorly!
