Where I'm From
I’m from a cramped blue house,
one floor and a basement.
Out in the country on three acres of land,
quiet and peaceful, like the night sky.
Family sits where my heart beats,
when and where I need them in my life.
Honest and supportive.
Memorable vacations with my sisters,
like going to school and going back home.
Grand Canyon and Las Vegas,
times and acres of laughs.
From Stone Bank to Arrowhead,
a single building to a place, like a college campus.
Nerves and excitement at the time.
New friendships beginning to form,
never forgetting memories from the past.
Hanging out and satisfying people.
Unsure what the future holds,
determined to follow a path that is my own.
Quiet and peaceful, like the night sky.
