When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on. -Franklin D. Roosevelt

Time of war was here

The fights of Vietnam brought fear

Here he comes, the soldier brought sadness

The blood shed was immense

Men fighting through fence

The soldier brought sadness

His brothers fell down,

From exhaustion and pain, they frown

The mothers cried when that draft notice showed

It was sad and they all wowed

There he was, the soldier brought sadness

He never knew how much it’d hurt

To go home and say these words

But there he was, with the last note

Missing home, and having hope
