The Tree
The night is young.
But your desire to sleep is old.
The Tree outside, gazing into your window;
Stop.Rest.Think.
But you just can't seem to shut down your mind,
unknown forces keep clawing at your thoughts
Never-ending distractions.
The tree scratches at the window.
Tick.Tick.Tick.TOCK.
You hear the clock humming it's melody.
Piercing your ears,
a song that will never let you rest,
an everlasting metronome that eats time away.
no way of breaking free of the distraction.
Leave me alone!
The tree stops, the clock silences.
Peace and quietness is gained,
but now, what to do with it
