Ode to an Elephant
Elephant, elephant romping though the grass,
As you lift your trunk with class.
I ask why do mice
Make you think twice,
About where to stomp
And where to romp.
Splash, splash goes the mud,
As you frolic in your flood.
You and your friends march a patrol
As you look for the next water hole.
And when you fan your ears
Do you smirk at your peers?
Elephant, elephant romping though the grass
As you lift your trunk with class.
Finally, with a blast you sing me a song,
A song that says “So long.”
