Why can’t the alarm just shut off.
As it taunts me relentlessly.
I try to shut the wretched thing off.

I roll off my bed. Thud.

I crawl back in bed, giving up.

Whatever it takes to get up.

Glance at the clock, realize I must rush.

I meander through my dark room.

Before I know it, I’m back on the Bus.
